Mulmyeong Camp (물멍캠프) is a kids campsite in Jojong-myeon, and it was our pick for camping in Gapyeong with kids. My wife and I took our son and daughter there for two nights in late March 2026. The trip started on my birthday, so it turned into a birthday camping weekend for the four of us. The covered heated pool and the stream beside the campground kept our two busy for all three days. The one surprise was that the grounds were smaller than I had pictured.

Day 1: Setting up under the canopy

We drove up from our home in Hanam on the Friday and arrived in the afternoon. Check-in starts at 2 p.m. We had a site under an arched canopy roof, and we set up our own tent underneath it. Each site has its own restroom, shower and sink, and ours did too. With two kids, having a restroom right at the site made the whole stay much easier, especially at night.

While we were still pitching the tent, the two of them could not wait and ran off to the trampoline.

Dinner on the first night was pork belly with kimchi on a griddle. After dark we lit a campfire, and since March nights there were chilly, we stayed in front of it for a long time.

The nights were cold enough that we needed real heating. We rented a Toyotomi fan heater from the campsite for both nights and ran an electric blanket underneath us. Our site had electricity, so both worked without any trouble, and we slept warm through both cold nights.

Day 2: Pool, stream and zip line

Our son and daughter spent the morning waiting for the pool to open at 10 a.m. It is heated and sits under a vinyl dome, so it was warm once we were inside and they could play comfortably even in March. According to the campsite’s listing, the main pool is about 90 cm deep and the kids’ zone is 30 cm.

The stream runs along the edge of the campground, so it was easy to go back and forth between the pool, our site and the water. The water was still cold in March, so they only dipped their feet and spent their time looking for fish. Even so, they had a great time there.

They also went on the nest swings and the zip line, and my daughter went back to the zip line again and again. Since this is a kids campsite, there were a lot of children around, and it was nice to see them all playing together. Looking back, the pool and the stream were where our two spent most of their time.

That evening we grilled lamb chops and makchang (grilled intestines).

Day 3: One more jump before leaving

Check-out is at noon on the last day. Before we packed into the car, our two had one last go on the trampoline. On the way out they asked if we could come back again.

What surprised me

The campsite felt smaller than I expected. It was not small overall, just not as big as I had imagined before we arrived.

How the campsite is laid out

The campsite map on the Camfit booking page shows how the grounds are organized:

  • Premium sites 1 to 30 sit around the pool building in the middle. We stayed at Site 24 in this area.
  • Sites 22 and 23 are spaces for camping cars and caravans and have no tarp roof, though regular tents are also allowed there.
  • Tarp sites 1 to 8 are a separate row on the gravel area along one edge of the campground.
  • The play area near the management office has the trampoline, the zip line, the round nest swings and a four-season sled slope.
  • The stream runs along one side of the campground. The map lists its maximum depth as about 2 m, so the deeper parts are worth keeping in mind with small kids.

Booking

We booked through the Camfit app. Our site was listed at 240,000 won for two nights, and a 36,000-won coupon in the app brought it down to 204,000 won. We paid through the app. We also added a fan heater rental for both nights as a separate booking in the app, which came to 40,000 won. Prices change with the season and the day of the week, so check the current rate on Camfit when you book.

If you go in March

  • Plan for cold nights. We needed both a fan heater (rented from the campsite) and an electric blanket to sleep warm.
  • Book the heater early. On Camfit it was a separate rental option, 40,000 won for our two nights.
  • Pack swim caps. The pool requires a fitted swim cap.
  • Expect cold stream water. In March our kids only dipped their feet, so the heated pool was their main place for real water play.
