We did not plan an evening at Everland (에버랜드). We had spent the day next door at Caribbean Bay, and our water park ticket let us into Everland after 5 p.m. the same day, so we dried off and went. This is what Everland at night was like with our two elementary-school kids on a weekday in June 2026: the gondola, the safari, the Amazon Express with no line, dinner, and the rain that cancelled the finale.

Getting in after 5 p.m.
Caribbean Bay and Everland are part of the same resort in Yongin. Our Caribbean Bay ticket included Everland entry after 5 p.m. on the same day, so the evening cost us nothing extra. Everland on its own is not cheap for a family of four, so if you are already going to the water park, check whether your ticket includes the evening. Pack dry, warm clothes for everyone.
We took the gondola across to the main park. It was cloudy, and from up there we could see the parking lots emptying out as the day visitors went home. It was also a World Cup match day, which kept the crowds down all day.
The safari with a short wait
Everland’s safari is a guided ride in a vehicle through large animal habitats. On a normal day the line can be long; ours was short. The guide’s commentary is in Korean, but the animals need no translation. We saw a bear walking along the road, a tiger sitting at the mouth of a rock den, and a lion lying under a tree. The kids stayed glued to the windows.
Amazon Express with no line
Right next to the safari is the Amazon Express, a river rapids ride that usually has one of the longest waits in the park. We walked straight on. You can get properly wet depending on how your boat spins, but after a day at the water park, our kids did not care at all. If you ride it earlier in the day in normal clothes, bring a poncho.
Dinner in the park
We ate dinner in the park. I had bibimbap, and the other dish on our table was a bowl of red stew. With the park this quiet, we found a table right away. Theme park food is rarely memorable, and this was a fair, filling meal at the end of a long day.
The parade and fireworks that rain cancelled
We had planned the end of the evening around the night parade and the fireworks. Then it started to rain hard, and both were cancelled. We waited under a roof for a while with two disappointed kids, then headed home. It was a letdown after an evening where everything else had gone our way. If the show is your main reason to go, check the forecast before you promise it to the kids.
How the evening fit our day
Our whole day ran like this: Caribbean Bay from the morning to late afternoon, a change into dry clothes, Everland from about 5 p.m., the safari and the Amazon Express, dinner, then the rain and the drive home to Hanam, which takes about an hour. It was a long day, and both kids were tired by the end, but splitting it into a water park half and a theme park half kept it from feeling like too much of the same thing. If your kids are younger, you could skip the evening and still have a full day at the water park.
A little background on Everland
Everland opened in 1976 as Yongin Farmland and took its current name in 1996. The park is split into five zones: Global Fair, Zootopia, European Adventure, Magic Land and American Adventure. The safari and the Amazon Express are both in Zootopia, which is why we could do them back to back. Everland says its safari was the first free-roaming lion safari in East Asia, and the Amazon Express is a round raft ride where most people end up splashed. The park also has T Express, a large wooden roller coaster, which our kids were not ready for this time.
