Caribbean Bay With Kids: Our Quiet Weekday Review, Tickets and Tips

Caribbean Bay (캐리비안베이) is the big water park inside the Everland Resort in Yongin, about an hour’s drive south of our home in Hanam. We went with our two elementary-school kids on a weekday in June 2026 for my wife’s birthday, and a World Cup match that evening kept the crowds away. This Caribbean Bay with kids review covers what we paid for tickets, the pools the kids liked, the Sanrio summer goods, the food, and the Everland evening that came with our ticket.

Why the park was nearly empty

We picked a weekday in late June, before the school holidays, and a big World Cup match was on that evening. The park was quiet. Loungers sat empty, and slide lines that would normally take a long time were short. Water parks in Korea get very crowded in July and August, so if you have any flexibility, a weekday in June is worth aiming for.

What we paid

We bought our tickets on NOL (the Yanolja app) as a special deal: a high-season all-day ticket plus one locker rental, valid June 12 to July 2, at 38,000 won each against a list price of 73,000 won. Four of those covered the family. Water park prices in Korea change by season and by date, and discount apps often beat the gate price, so compare before you go.

The Sanrio summer party

Before we even got to the water, our daughter stopped at a shop window. The park was running a Sanrio summer collaboration, with Pochacco and Hello Kitty on towels, floats and plush keychains wearing red lifeguard vests. We bought her one of the keychains, and our son, who had rolled his eyes at first, quietly picked one for himself too.

Wave pool, lazy river and slides

Once we were in the water, the kids split up by taste. Our son went for the wave pool, where the swells are strong enough to lift you off your feet, so stay close to younger kids when the waves are running. Our daughter preferred the lazy river, and we floated a lot of loops with her between rounds in the wave pool.

The slide towers are tall, and with short lines our son rode the same slides again and again. Check the height signs before you queue, because some of the bigger slides have limits. When the kids got cold, we moved to one of the warm spa pools to warm up before going back in.

Food: what worked and what did not

We ordered a BBQ set inside the park, and it was disappointing for the price. The tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) our son wanted was the thing everyone liked. We had brought canned beer and water with us, which saved buying every drink inside. If you go, eat a solid breakfast and treat the park food as a snack rather than the main event.

Everland after 5 p.m.

Our Caribbean Bay ticket also let us into Everland next door after 5 p.m. the same day. We dried off, changed, and took the gondola over to the theme park for the evening: the safari, the Amazon Express and dinner, until rain cancelled the parade and fireworks. That evening has its own post: Everland at night with kids. If you plan to do both, pack a full set of dry clothes for everyone.

Getting there from Seoul

Caribbean Bay is inside the Everland Resort in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, and shares the resort’s parking lots with Everland. We drove from Hanam, on the eastern edge of Seoul, and it took about an hour. The parking lots are large, and on our quiet weekday we parked close to the entrance. At the gate you get a wristband that works as your locker key, which is handy with kids because nobody has to carry a key around in the water.

Korean words that help at the water park

  • 캐리비안베이 (Kaeribian Bei): Caribbean Bay
  • 파도풀 (pado pul): wave pool
  • 유수풀 (yusu pul): lazy river
  • 슬라이드 (seullaideu): water slide
  • 락커 / 사물함 (lakkeo / samulham): locker
  • 구명조끼 (gumyeong jokki): life jacket
  • 떡볶이 (tteokbokki): spicy rice cakes

Questions parents ask

Can you bring your own food and drinks into Caribbean Bay?

We brought canned beer and water with us and had no problem. Rules on outside food can change, so check the current guidance before you pack a full lunch.

Is Caribbean Bay good for kids who are not strong swimmers?

The lazy river and warm pools suit cautious kids. The wave pool is stronger, so keep younger children close there.

Does a Caribbean Bay ticket include Everland?

Ours included Everland entry after 5 p.m. the same day. Check the terms on your own ticket, since deals differ.

Tips for Caribbean Bay with kids

  • Go on a weekday before the holidays: late June was quiet for us.
  • Compare ticket prices: our app deal was about half the list price.
  • Stay close in the wave pool: the swells push smaller kids around.
  • Check height limits: some big slides are not for younger kids.
  • Use the warm pools: they help kids last longer in the cold water.
  • Keep the food simple: the BBQ set was not worth it for us.
  • Bring dry clothes for Everland: if your ticket includes the evening.

Our verdict

On a quiet weekday, Caribbean Bay was an easy, fun day for our family. The wave pool and slides kept our son busy, the lazy river suited our daughter, and the Sanrio goods were a bonus. The food was the weak point. On a packed summer weekend it would be a different day, so the timing matters as much as the park. Our rating: 4.3 / 5.
