Naepo Camping Square With Kids: Children’s Day Weekend, Private Bathroom Sites and Price

Naepo Camping Square (내포캠핑스퀘어) is an auto campsite at the foot of Yongbongsan in Hongseong, Chungcheongnam-do. We spent the Children’s Day long weekend there in May 2026 with our two elementary-school kids, in a large site with its own private bathroom, while the campsite ran a Children’s Day program for the kids. This Naepo Camping Square review covers what we booked and paid, the program, the first rainy day, and what we would tell other families.

What we booked

We booked through Campit (캠핏), a Korean camping reservation app. Our booking was for a large B site in the section of Naepo Camping Square where each site has its own private bathroom, for two adults and two children, three nights from Friday May 1 to Monday May 4. The total was 320,000 won. Check-in was at 2 p.m. and check-out at noon.

The private bathroom was the reason we chose it. With two kids, not having to walk to a shared toilet block at night makes camping much easier. The Korea Tourism Organization’s GoCamping listing describes the campsite as an auto campsite at the foot of Yongbongsan with gravel sites, generous spacing between sites and an indoor playground, and lists a car theater, a valley stream and walking trails nearby.

Our site

Our large B site had room for the car, our tent and a table, with gravel underfoot, which drains well after rain. Having our own bathroom at the site meant no night walks to a shared block, and it also made teeth brushing and washing up after dinner much simpler. The sites are spaced well apart, so even on a full holiday weekend it did not feel crowded around us.

A rainy start

It rained on our first day. Setting up in the rain with two kids is nobody’s favorite part of camping, and we spent the first afternoon doing the minimum and waiting for it to ease off. The weather improved after that, and the rest of the weekend was dry. If you camp in Korea in early May, pack for rain and cool nights as well as sun.

The Children’s Day program, part one

For the long weekend, the campsite ran a Children’s Day program in two parts. The first part was cake making, recreation games and an evening by the fire. The kids lined up for group games at the check-in area, staff twisted balloons into animals, and there was a dance time in the afternoon. Our daughter came away with a beige balloon dog that she carried around for the rest of the day.

The kids also received small gifts from the campsite over the weekend, including a Children’s Day gift bag and a snack pack. The second part of the program, with horse riding, a horse keychain craft and a flea market, has its own post: horseback riding for kids at Naepo Camping Square.

Evenings at the site

Our evenings were simple. One night we had fried chicken for dinner at our site. After dark we lit the fire pit, sprinkled rainbow flame powder on the fire, which turns the flames blue and green for a few minutes, and let the kids hold sparklers. The fire was the part of the day our kids looked forward to most.

Why a program weekend works with kids

Without the program, a three-night stay could have felt long for two elementary-school kids. With something happening every day, they always had a reason to run off to the activity area and come back full of news. Children’s Day in Korea is May 5, and many family campsites run programs over the long weekend around it, so it is worth checking what is included when you compare sites. These weekends book out early.

After check-out

On May 4 we packed up in the morning and drove to Anmyeondo for a grilled clam lunch at Pungnyeon Hwesenta, then stopped at Kkotji Beach and the Taean Horticultural Therapy Expo on the way home. Naepo is a good base for the west coast of Chungcheongnam-do.

  • 어린이날 (eorininal): Children’s Day, May 5
  • 불멍 (bulmeong): staring into the campfire
